April flowers and Baby Showers

Well, 3 weeks to go and I feel like it could be any day but we went through this when G was due and waited forever, so I won't get too excited... yet. I should be focusing in resting, enjoying these last few weeks with just Gracie and being able to nap when I want too, somewhat! Yesterday our friends Karlie and John had a wonderful BBQ baby shower for us and included our friends and lots of kids! Gracie had a blast playing with Sebastian, Ryder, Kaelyn,Keenan, Spencer, Katie, Munya and Jesa. We were very honored that SJ, Farayi, Rob, Carole, Scott, Charith, Sara, Chad and John and Karlie were helping us celebrate the little baby soon to be. Some friends we missed becuase they weren't able to make it, but they were there in spirit! It was a wonderful day. Now we just sit back and relax enjoy the April flowers blooming all around us and wait to see if little baby will share a birthday with such other April babies as John, Gramps Norm, Aunt Christine, or Granny Suki.

Happy Easter

Well the Easter bunny did find his way to our house despite the pouring rain which lasted most of yesterday, thwarting his plan to hide eggs sin the yard. Gracie was thrilled to discover the bunny had left little treat filled eggs around the house, clever bunny! Then Gracie requested, on her own, I am not joking, that we read the Jesus story. It turned out she meant the nativity story, not the easter book we have but oh well. We had delicious dinner at our friends' house and I stuffed myself with fabulous ham, potatoes, salad and of course jelly beans! Here are two pics of G looking for eggs in the crib and bouncing on her bouncy ball the Bunny left for her and one of me that looks like I swallowed the Easter Bunny. Happy Easter to all.

the count down

Well, 4 weeks and counting. I know... it seems like forever! The baby's room is ready as it ever will be, now we just need the baby!

Yesterday's Dr appt went well and the Dr estimated the baby weighing seven pounds already! EGADS! I said, "But DR. I still have 4 weeks to go!" and she just said, "Yup, this is going to be at least an 8 pound baby." Just knock me out and wake me up when it's over!

I am going to the hospital twice a week for Non stress tests which is where they hook me up to monitors which evaluate the baby's heartbeat and my contractions. Because I am on two different medications for the diabetes and because of the diabetes they are monitoring the baby very closely.

Gracie is very excited but I think she is starting to doubt there really is a baby coming. How much she understands I am not sure and she is waffling on whether or not she really does want to be a big sister or not. She does love to poke my belly and always talks to "the baby".

This weekend is Easter and we are going to friends for dinner and I have an egg hunt planned, how fun! The pics are two of Gracie's room and two of the baby's room.

More Texas pics

Don't mess with Texas

Paul and Gracie had the best time in Texas! Gracie was an angel on the plane and for the whole trip really. She loved seeing her cousins Morgan and Mollie again and Uncle Jon and Aunt Stephanie. They went down to Clifton to surprise Lanelle and Norm and it was a big success, the had NO idea. The days went quickly and it was a nice treat for them to visit Hog Creek which is beautiful in the spring and have some quiet time to just relax and let Gracie and Mollie have a blast together! Gracie came home with a ton of new dance moves and seemed to have aged a year in just four days! It certainly makes us wish we lived closer to family when it is so obvious how much fun little cousins cna have together like they've been best friends for years!

peace

Hi... Paul and Gracie are away, and I am enjoying some much needed peace and quiet! It is lovely to think only about myself and I will post pics and news when Paul and Gracie return. 6 weeks to go until the newest family member arrives and there is a chance it could be sooner given the diabetes but I will keep you all posted!
