starnes visit

So sad, our family has left. We had a wonderful visit with Granny Suki, Granddad Colin, Auntie Deanna and Uncle Matthew. All have left and the house now feels so lonely and quiet! We managed to do quite a few fun things, trips to the outlet malls, Everett baseball game, a trip to the zoo, walking a round the sculpture park, visiting with Cousins SJ and Farayi, dad was wonderful and did many needed tasks around the house including installing a nice new screen door out front and rearranging our garage not to mention hours of yard work! Lucy loved meeting her family and they loved her. Gracie was beside herself with excitement and especially took to Deanna who gave her spa treatments in the bath and read books galore! Gracie started her new school this week and immediately felt at home and already has a new best friend named Rose.

new stuff

hi, sorry for the delay in updating the blog, life has been crazy here with my headaches, busy days and helping Lucy adjust. Lucy is growing incredibly fast and despite being very fussy at night and going to bed very late she is adorable and sweet and her smiles melt your heart! Gracie is a wonderful big sister except she keeps licking Lucy but she is getting better and better with sharing our attention. Paul's baseball has started for another season so he is happy and excited. My headaches have been better this week after a trip to the ER last Saturday and my new goal is to drink, drink, drink ...lots of water that is!Lucy is really taking on her own identity, looking less and less like Gracie. Her gorgeous red hair is all falling out and very light blond hair is growing in, her eyebrows are so blond you can't see them and her eyelashes are very pale as well, unlike Gracie's luscious long black ones. Lucy it seems has very blue eyes but there appear to be brownish spots growing so who knows what color they will be and she is already way bigger then Gracie was at this age! She enjoys staring at the window and love lights. She really responds to voices now and just likes to be held all the time. She is still sleeping with me in bed and is so soft and snuggly but soon she will have to start sleeping in her crib, which she does during the day!

Gracie and Lucy both had great week this week. Gracie did very well in school having fun playing on the climber and drawing wonderful art. Lucy has been very fussy at night and it usually lasts from 5 pm to about midnight but this does mean that she sleeps very well through the night. :) We are now going to try taking her away from the night time commotion of dinner making and maybe letting her fall asleep for the night around 8 or so but this potentially means she may wake up at 4:30 am we'll see! Both girls are developing right on track, Lucy will be 6 weeks tomorrow and is very alert and stays awake a little longer every day. She is smiling at us and making little sounds. The other day I was harping at Gracie for something and she turned to me and said..."Just worry about yourself Mom, I'll worry about me!" Little stinker!
