Ok, so at one point in time Samos and Paros were our babies. But then... along came Gracie and they were relegated to third class citizens in our home. Now with Lucy, I don't think there even is a class to describe how far down the ladder these poor old things are. Paros is still living with diabetes and we try to remember her shots and Samos, well I think he is still around since he basically lives under Lucy's crib since it's the only place Gracie can't reach him. Lucy has discovered that Samos is incredibly tolerant of babies and even though Lucy doesn't understand the difference between a teether and Sammy's face, he is indeed very patient. Went to the Dr. yesterday, who actually told me I had made a valiant effort to nurse as long as possible and despite being a huge advocate of breastfeeding she felt maybe it is time to "let it go". Lucy, the little devil, has now decided that a bottle is so much more fun and efficient that she has almost given up nursing completely. I am taking meds to promote lactation and trying to keep it up by pumping with a mac-daddy breast pump from the hospital and even if I can't nurse would like her to atleast get breast milk. Formula smells.... the upside of Lulu taking a bottle is that now Paul can get up and give her a bottle if she needs it and I can maybe have my first full 8 hr sleep since well before Lulu was born! Yippee, I am going to take a hot bath in our bird feeder of a tub, maybe a glass of wine, and LOCK myself in the bedroom!
